Andrea Hunter.B A Hons. After graduating in 1987 with a degree in textiles, I worked as a self empoyed artist for several years, working in charcoal & pastel. But in recent years I have revived my love of textiles by developing a technique of painting with wool, then turning the picture into felt, thus the image being locked into the piece of felt.

I build up the picture within the layers of wool creating depth and texture. I find I am happiest working with fine wool tops to create pictures rather like a fine artist uses paint. I love forming images of flowers, capturing their vibrant colours within the felt, but creating atmospheric scenes of the dales countryside gives me the greatest satisfaction.

In the year 2000 I opened a workshop/gallery in Hardraw, specialising in my original felt artwork, but also available are unique handmade felt cards along with limited edition giclee prints.
